Quote Quote is a notebook for book quotes. It is built so your reading stays yours: no account, no server storing your quotes.
What the app keeps, and where
- Your quotes, books and page photos are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage.
- iCloud backup (optional): if you turn it on in Settings, a copy of your data is saved to your own iCloud Drive, in a space reserved for the app. We cannot access it.
- Text recognition runs on the device using Apple's Vision framework. Page images never leave your iPhone for this step.
What leaves the device

No data is sold or used for advertising. The app contains no advertising trackers.
Permissions
- Camera: photograph a page or scan a book's ISBN barcode.
- Photos: import a page photo you already took. The app only accesses the photos you pick.
The quotequote.app website
- The website sets no cookies and does not track your browsing.
- Beta sign-up: if you leave your email address, it is sent to PostHog (EU hosting) with the page language, for one reason only: to send you the TestFlight invitation and then tell you about the release. It is neither sold nor shared. Write to us to have it deleted.
- The light or dark theme you pick is kept in your browser and sent nowhere.
Your rights
- Export: Settings › Export (Markdown or CSV) gives you a full copy of your quotes.
- Delete: deleting a quote removes it from the device; uninstalling the app removes all local data. The iCloud backup can be deleted from iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
- Usage statistics can be turned off at any time in Settings.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them.
